Eric Salgado - El Tubero de los Artistas

Known as “El Tubero de los Artistas” (The Artists’ Tuba Player), Eric Salgado began his musical journey at the age of 10 after discovering an old trombone in his parents’ garage. This planted the seed that would lead him, in 2007—at just 16 years old—to assemble his own 15-piece band in San Diego, California.

In 2009, an opportunity arose for him to accompany Fidel Rueda, and it was there that his career truly took off. Over the years, he has performed alongside legendary artists such as El Komander, Jenni Rivera, Graciela Beltrán, El Potro de Sinaloa, Adriel Favela, and Ulises Quintero, among many other soloists and groups. In 2011, YouTube witnessed the birth of the “El Tubero de los Artistas” persona as Eric began uploading videos demonstrating how to play the tuba.

In less than a year, he reached his first million followers on Facebook. Eric’s deep love for music is matched by his passion for composition. One of his tracks, “El Doble del Diablo,” garnered 5 million views on YouTube in 2011 and has been performed by numerous fellow musicians. Hits like “El Gallón,” “La Leyenda,” and “No Soy Mujeriego” continue to open significant doors in the industry.

Today, Eric has dedicated himself to expanding the culture through interviews, video reviews, his “TubaTelas” series, and mentoring fellow musicians. He is now focused on his primary entrepreneurial venture, TDLA Instruments—a professional line of musical instruments and accessories designed for the modern performer. Four million followers later, Eric remains active and stronger than ever. “El Tubero de los Artistas” is more than just a stage name; it has evolved into TDLA, a foundational brand within the Regional Mexican music genre.
